Hi there! I’m Elijah Hicks, owner of Sincerely Alive. I’m proud to call Red River Gorge, Kentucky home—it’s my favorite place in the world, which is saying a lot.

Fun fact: In 2023, I had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel on the Watson Fellowship for a year and study diverse tourism economies. It was fascinating to see the vast array of tourism businesses in these destinations. From cloud forest coffee farms to desert lavender farms, from speedboat whale tours to classical music pampered sheep farms (ask me about it), I was ever curious about the practicality of the operations. Which ones would succeed? Which would contribute to their community and provide lasting and meaningful careers?

It all comes down to the numbers. Without a clear picture of what’s working and what’s not, running a business becomes a guessing game, and that’s a terrible feeling.

I have deep experience in the tourism industry—its frustrations and joys and everything in-between. I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, QuickBooks Foundation Client Advisor, and Gusto Payroll Specialist, and I use many types of software in my day-to-day workflows.
